VALENTINE’S DAY NAME ACTIVITY

Valentine’s Day is filled with love and is such a fun holiday to celebrate!  You can use hearts for just about any educational activity.  This Valentine’s Day Name Activity is a great example of that.  This activity is so easy to create and really does a great job helping kids with name recognition and practice.

Ok, I know you’re excited to get started! So, here we go…………………………..

Materials:

  • Construction paper
  • A black marker
  • Magnet tape (optional material if you want to do this activity on a magnetic white board)

Directions:

The first thing I did to prepare for this activity was cut out a bunch of hearts using the construction paper.  Then I wrote one letter of my daughter’s name on each heart.  I also wrote my daughter’s name on a piece of white construction paper.  I had Grace organize her name is the correct order on the floor first a few times and then I added some magnetic tape to the back of the hearts.  Grace then practiced organizing her name in the correct order on our magnetic white board.

How did my daughter do with this activity?

Grace really liked this activity and she did a good job.  She thought it was so cute that she could spell out her name with hearts.

What is she learning during this activity?

  • name recognition
  • following directions
  • hand eye coordination

This was such an easy and fun activity to do for Valentine’s Day.  It was so quick to create and Grace has been doing this activity for the past 2 weeks every morning.  She really loves it.  Help your child practice their name with this Valentine’s Day Name Activity today!
